The National History Bee and Bowl is pleased to once again announce the Lorenz Cup on Thursday evening, April 26 in Arlington, VA in conjunction with our 2018 Varsity and Junior Varsity National Championships. It will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, VA. The Lorenz Cup is open to any team that has not yet played A Set – solo teams are also welcome (as long as no one from their school had played A Set), as are teams that aren’t participating in the National Championships of the National History Bowl.
The Lorenz Cup is named in the memory of Jack Lorenz, the former principal of Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, NJ whose support for the Tri-State History Bowl on May 22, 2010 gave rise to NHBB and its sister competitions under the International Academic Competitions aegis.
Please register for this tournament as you would any other regional event. Note that even teams that finish with a .500 winning percentage or better do not qualify for the National Championships of the National History Bowl though through the Lorenz Cup (as it is too short notice).
