Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

Congratulations to Caddo Magnet, Airline F, and Converse Middle School, Champions of the 2015 Northern Louisiana History Bowl!  Our competition was held on Saturday, January 24 at Airline High School and featured 21 teams in action from throughout the Pelican State and surrounding region.  In the Varsity Division, Caddo Magnet entered the playoffs as the top seed and defeated the third-seeded hosts in the championship match.  Both the JV and Middle School Divisions needed both games of an advantaged final.  Airline F won both JV Finals matches against St. Mary’s while top-seeded Converse pulled out a 10-point victory over Riverdale Middle A to claim the championship.

On the Bee side, congratulations to Yara Hantash of Zachary High School and Elizabeth Gill of St. Mary’s, Varsity and JV Champions of the 2015 Northern Louisiana History Bee!  Daniel Mills of our hosts and Kate Dickson of St. Mary’s finished as the respective runners-up.  The thrilling JV Final was won by a 6-5 margin while 6-3 was the score in the Varsity Final.

Many thanks to Mr. Michael Pedrotty and Airline High School for hosting our tournament.  We hope that all participants will consider joining us for our 2015 Louisiana State Championship at Zachary High School on February 21 on B Set. Likewise, we hope that those who qualified will be able to join us for our National Championships in Washington, DC and Arlington, VA on April 24-26, 2015. Thanks to everyone who came for a great day of history quiz competition!
