The International History Bee and Bowl is the counterpart to NHBB outside the USA. As of 2015, IHBB runs tournaments in over 20 countries around the world, with separate divisions for Asia, Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional divisions for Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean will debut in the coming years.
All IHBB tournaments feature a Bee and a Bowl, just like standard NHBB high school level tournaments. IHBB also features Middle School, Junior Varsity, and Varsity divisions, just like NHBB. The question content varies somewhat depending on which part of the world the tournament occurs in, and is much less focused on American history than at NHBB tournaments. All IHBB tournaments as of 2015 are held in English – foreign language tournaments will debut in years to come.
If you know students outside the USA who would be interested in competing, or if you ever attend a foreign school yourself, IHBB is a chance to keep competing around the world! For more information, see our global homepage at www.ihbbglobal.com
