The International History Bee and Bowl (NHBB’s overseas division) is the organizer of the International History Olympiad. The Olympiad debuted at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA in July 2015 with 111 students from 16 countries. The 2016 Olympiad is slated to be in Hawaii, the next Olympiad will then be held in 2018 in East Asia.

The Olympiad features numerous events, including over a dozen History Bee and Bowl tournaments, as well as other historically-themed competitive and non-competitive events. See the website at www.historyolympiad.com for a full program of events.

Students can qualify for the Olympiad by finishing in the top half at the National Championships in either The National History Bee or The National History Bowl, or by winning a regional or state tournament in either the Bee or the Bowl. Qualification is valid for two years.
