Congratulations to St. Gregory the Great A, the champions of the inaugural 2013 Central New Jersey History Bowl! Our competition, which was a middle-school only tournament, was held on Tuesday, March 12 at Lawrence Middle School in Lawrenceville, and featured 10 teams from middle schools across Central New Jersey. St. Dominic was the finalist, with Lawrence B and Melvin Kreps as our two semifinalist teams. The level of play was excellent from all teams, and we hope that all participating students will compete again at either the middle or high school levels. We also hope that some teams may be interested in our National Championships on May 18-19 in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia!
Many thanks to Ms. Mindy Milavsky and Ms. Shannon Stromenger from Lawrence Middle School for their efforts with outreach and hosting which made this tournament possible, and to all our volunteer readers and scorekeepers for their help with making things run smoothly. Thanks to everyone who came for a great afternoon of History Bowl competition!
