Congratulations to Ransom Everglades’ A, D, and Middle School teams; the Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Middle School Champions of the 2013 South Florida Winter History Bee and Bowl! Our competition, held on Saturday, January 12 at Ransom Everglades was attended by 22 teams from area schools and was another great day of history competition in South Florida. While Ransom came away with the titles, Miami Palmetto had a very strong performance as well, among the six teams that it brought, including the Varsity and JV finalists. Chaminade Madonna qualified 4 teams for Nationals in a successful day too, and Cypress Bay brought 2 strong teams, including a Varsity semifinalist. Palmetto Middle School, which had qualified for Middle School Nationals at our South Florida Fall tournament back in November at Archimedean, played Ransom Everglades’ Middle School team tight over three matches and notched a win against a high school team too.
Thanks to Ransom Everglades coach Steve Frappier and the numerous volunteers from Ransom Everglades, along with all the coaches and the participating teams, for making another great tournament possible, and especially for providing breakfast and lunch to all!
We hope to see all schools at Chaminade Madonna in Hollywood in March for States, and look forward to another great South Florida turnout at Nationals in April!
