Cumberland defeated East Peoria to win the 2013 Central Illinois History Bowl at Centennial High School in Champaign on February 9. Six teams played for the Varsity title while four more contested the JV division. The younger division was won by Carbondale, which went 5-0 and finished two games clear of the hosts’ JV team, which finished second and qualified for our national championships on April 27-28 in Arlington, VA and Washington, DC. Other national qualifiers included Dwight Township and Centennial in the Varsity Division.
Thanks to tournament director James Garcia and Centennial for hosting this tournament again, and we hope to see all the qualified teams at Nationals!
