New York – Long Island

Congratulations to Hunter A and North Babylon B, the Varsity and Junior Varsity champions of the 2013 Long Island History Bowl! Our competition was held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Half Hollow Hills West High School in Dix Hills, NY, and featured 23 teams from schools across Long Island and New York City. Hunter A, led by Zihan Zheng, a member of Hunter’s defending National Championship team, went undefeated in the prelims and cleared the field, though a talented Great Neck South team played them close in the final match. North Babylon, a perennial Long Island powerhouse, took the JV title.
Congratulations to all teams who qualified for Nationals, and we hope you will be able to join us on April 27-28 in Arlington, VA and Washington, DC to take on the best teams from around the country! And prior to that, we hope you might be able to join us for our competitions on B Set and A Set in the area too.
Thanks to Half Hollow Hills West for hosting another great tournament for us, and to NHBB Assistant Director Alan Blayne for directing! Thanks as well to Will Schneider, Robert Pond, and the volunteers from Stony Brook for all their help, and to all teams for coming!
