The 2013 Northern Idaho History Bowl took place on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Troy Junior-Senior High School with 6 participating teams representing the host school, Potlatch, and Mount Spokane. All teams played each other in five preliminary rounds, with the two teams from Mount Spokane building on their experience in the Eastern Washington History Bowl that took place earlier this season to finish a combined 9-1 to qualify as finalists for this competition. Rounding out the national qualifiers was Troy’s A team with a record of 3-2.
In the final, Mount Spokane’s A team fell behind early, but took the lead in the second quarter and expanded it to 190-120 at the end of the third quarter. Mount Spokane’s B team won the fourth quarter 80-50, but that was not enough to win the title.
Many thanks to Rusty Goble and Troy Junior-Senior High for hosting. We hope to see all the qualifying teams at our national championships on April 27 and 28 in Arlington, VA and Washington, D. C.!
