Oregon

Congratulations to Pope John Paul II, Klahowya Secondary School, and Stoller Middle School for winning the Varsity, JV, and Middle School divisions respectively of the firstĀ Oregon History Bowl held at Rainier Junior-Senior High School on Saturday, March 23. Pope John Paul II, represented by a single player, was the only varsity team in the field of four high school teams, going undefeated. Klahowya’s JV team had the best record, 3-1, against other JV teams. Stoller’s A team went undefeated against all other middle school opposition. Each of the winning teams as well as any with three preliminary victories qualified for our national championships — the high school one being held on April 27-28 and the middle school on May 18-19, both in Arlington, VA and Washington, DC — in their respective divisions.

Many thanks to Andrew Demko and Rainier Junior-Senior High for all of his work over the past two years in bringing this tournament to fruition, and also to Jeff Kreifels for directing the tournament. We hope to see all of the qualified teams in Arlington in either April or May (or both!)
