Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

Congratulations to Alpharetta and River Trail Middle A, the champions in the Varsity and Junior Varsity Divisions respectively for the 2014 Eastern Georgia History Bowl! Both wins are highly noteworthy as Alpharetta was a solo team (kudos to Bhanodai Pippala!) and River Trail Middle was a middle school team taking on high school level JV teams! Our competition was held on Saturday, November 1 at Cedar Shoals High School in Athens.

Many thanks to Robin Richards for hosting and directing, as well as to all readers and scorekeepers for their help throughout the day.

We hope that all area teams will consider joining us for our next area tournament at Greenbrier High School in Evans (near Augusta) in January, and that teams who qualified for Nationals will join us in Arlington, VA and Washington, DC on April 24-26. Thanks for a great day of history quiz competition, and we hope you had a great time!
