The Belen Jesuit A team (Miami, FL) won our 2018 Varsity South Florida History Bowl held on Nov. 17 at Archimedean Upper Conservatory

International Academic Competitions has been busy organizing National History Bee and Bowl tournaments throughout the USA this fall! Through the Thanksgiving weekend, we have run 13 tournaments from Hawaii to Massachusetts, and Florida to Washington state. Results for the History Bee and History Bowl are being posted as directors submit their stats to us. Chattahoochee (GA) and Millburn A (NJ) have put up the highest 5 round prelim point totals so far (in both cases 2370), but Adlai Stevenson (IL) (who won the JV National History Bowl in 2018) and Team Pi-oneers (CA) (who won the Middle School National History Bowl in 2018) looked very strong as well at their respective fall regional tournaments.

Nationals (on April 26-28, 2019) registration will open shortly as well; we will post an update here when the registration link is activated. Students and teams who know they are coming though are encouraged to make hotel reservations – the reservation link for the host hotel, the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA is now available on the main Nationals information page.

Finally, if you have students at your school in 8th grade or younger, or have younger siblings, or are eager to get your feeder middle and elementary schools involved to ensure that you have experienced and enthusiastic incoming 9th graders each year, be sure to sign up for the National History Bee – Middle School and Elementary School Divisions on the Middle School and Elementary School website here! The registration period runs through January 19, and the first two stages (the optional intramural stage and the Online Regional Qualifying Exam) are offered to students, schools, and homeschool associations free of charge this year! Further details are available here – you can also contact us at info@iacompetitions.com for questions.
